"Georgia recruited me, but Georgia hadn't offered me a scholarship and Alabama did," Williams said. "But even if they would have, I would have gone to Alabama over Georgia. I was all Alabama." How much of an Alabama lean was Williams all along? His little brother wore Alabama gear during his family's visit to Georgia's junior day. Williams had previously visited Bryant-Denny Stadium for games and took in last year's A-Day Game. He needed barely a day to quickly snatch up an offer when Saban presented one. Williams said his cousin currently attends UA and was the one who first got him to attend a game in Tuscaloosa. "It changed my fan switch on the snap of a finger," Williams said. "I looked around and was like, 'These people really care about football here.' That's always where I've wanted to be, where people care about football."
