in the closing seconds of the paul finebaum show, finebaum said that there may be other players from al. involved. he also mentioned the fact we are on probation. i hope this won't be to serious.

When something like this happens is it held against the school if they had no knowledge? This is a nightmare.

Here are my 2 cents for what they're worth...

From what I understand this would likely not be an institutional violation that would affect the school and its probationary status but rather Dareus' eligibility. This is more like the Andre Smith debacle.

The worst I see happening is that it kills Dareus' eligibility. If he was indeed there and the circumstances surrounding it were wrong, then we should thank our lucky stars that it happened in the off season and he did not play in any games before it was discovered. THAT would be VERY bad.

Not that this is good news but it could be worse.

I read where he went to the party, thinking it was just a party,when he saw what was going on he left..That said ,how did he get there,did he receive any money for transportation? Unanswered questions,but the University is questioning him and by this evening or tomorrow perhaps we'll know.

Bigger question was there any contact before this. If there was contact say before the championship and he is ruled ineligible for any games after contact then we would have to write off #13.

This article cleared up some things for me since this article broke out. If true, I don't think NCAA will come down that hard on Marcel .

I think Marcel will have to miss some time I don't think however it will affect the University directly, and I don't think his time missed will be too significant. That said i think what Saban had to say about agents is absolutely true. I do believe they are the scum of sports and they have no repercussion for any illegal actions they take. The one thing that agents want more than anything is money, so if you take action like take their license away that hinders their ability to make money.

If Dareus misses any PT It will be the 1st game only but I really will be surprised if he misses that much. He handled the situation correctly.

They should ban the scouts, most of them are just like CNS says. Dareus handled the situation properly.
Hope he doesn't miss any playing time,he should get alot of sacks this season.
